A Pro-Life report from Lebanon

  • A priest from the clergy promote the artificial contraception on a catholic radio in Lebanon

St Charbel for Life, Oct 24, 2001, Beirut, Lebanon- at 11AM the voice of Charity an Arabic Catholic Radio that broadcast to Lebanon and Syria, Father Edgar Elhaybi from St Vincen de Paul Church, el Nakash Lebanon Phone #011961-3515-134. was speaking on this radio about the Catholic church teaching on artificial contraception, by using relativism, first he said that he is against it as the church teaches, but there are some circumstances depend on the means, the situation and the conscience, he said: “… after the couple had informed themselves about the position of the authoritative teaching of church, and tried prayerfully, with knowledge and reason that they understand what the church teaching means, and consulted the expert specialist spiritually and on … they can do different what the teaching they heard without contradicting the spirituality of the teaching. Then from their duty they can follow their conscience. This is the teaching of the church.” And he said that “…artificial contraception is between Grace and sin, it can be a Grace, because it will help us to grow more in love to each other and build each other up more…”   This is pure relativism that is destroying the Catholic teaching on Life and family

what a shame a priest from the clergy promoting artificial contraception and on a catholic radio in Lebanon. And how evil can be called good (Isaiah 5). Pope Paul VI was very clear in his famous letter Humanea Vitea, that contraception is illicit. And the Church teaches that it is a violation of the natural Law that God printed in every human heart… and what is scary is the availability of all kind of abortion pills and contraception pills without the government regulations in Lebanon.

POPE CALLS FAMILIES TO DEFEND PRO-FAMILY VALUES

VATICAN, October 1, 2001 (LSN.ca) - On Sunday, Pope John Paul II called on families to become "promoters of a new stage of commitment for an effective defense of family values." Zenit News (www.zenit.org) reports that before leading the midday Angelus with pilgrims, the Pope warned families against "disintegrative tendencies" and attempts "to equate the institution of the family based on matrimony with other forms of living together."

His remarks came as he drew attention to the upcoming Oct. 21 declaration of sainthood of a Roman couple, Luigi Beltrame Quattrocchi (1880-1951) and Maria Corsini (1884-1965). "For the first time, two spouses will arrive together, as a couple, to the goal of beatification . This event is taking place 20 years after the publication of the apostolic exhortation 'Familiaris Consortio,' which focused on the role of the family, especially threatened in present day society," said the Pope.

DOCUMENT ON ORGAN TRANSPLANTS FROM ANIMALS TO HUMANS

VATICAN CITY, SEP 26, 2001 (VIS) - Presented this morning in the Holy See Press Office was a document of the Pontifical Academy for Life entitled: "The Perspective of Xenotransplantation (Organ Transplants from Animals to Humans). Scientific Aspects and Ethical Considerations." Participating in the presentation were Bishop Elio Sgreccia, vice-president of the Pontifical Academy for Life, and Profs. Emanuele Cozzi, Maurizio P. Faggioni, O.F.M., and Marialuisa Lavitrano, members of the group who prepared the document. "The document," affirmed Bishop Sgreccia, "wishes to be a response and a contribution to future decisions in the area of xenotransplantation, which, in every case, will certainly have a worldwide value." The text analyzes various basic problems (scientific, philosophical, anthropological), including "the ethical considerations of the use of animals to improve man's survival and well-being." In this regard Professor Faggioni recalled that in the vision expressed in the first chapters of Genesis "man has ... a true dominion over creation," but "cannot" reduce other creatures "to a kind of degrading and destructive slavery. ... The licitness of the use of animals involves ... the respect of certain conditions, such as the avoidance of unnecessary suffering for the animals and great caution in introducing uncontrollable genetic modifications which can cause useless pain or stress ... or significantly alter the biodiversity and equilibrium of species in the animal world."
